Research lines: recommender systems and search; language models, AI agents and AI safety; machine learning for weather, climate and science; AI for learning. - Co-founded Recombee (2015), a recommendation and search engine used by 500+ customers in 40+ countries and over 10,000 sites and apps; annual recurring revenue about USD 8M. Good recommendations help people discover content they would otherwise miss and help companies improve their products. - Co-founded experts.ai (2017), a platform that shows the expertise, results and projects of universities to industry, and its spin-off EduMatch (2024), where every student has an AI career assistant that finds internships and jobs and does the pre-screening for them. - Co-founded AI dětem (2021), a non-profit that brings AI education and safe AI tools to Czech schools and wants to scale globally, and prg.ai (2019), which builds the AI ecosystem in Prague and prepares society for the arrival of advanced AI. - Vice-dean for industry cooperation at FIT CTU (2017–2024). Habilitation in informatics in 2017. General co-chair of ACM RecSys 2025 in Prague and member of the ACM RecSys steering committee. - Projects: RecSys Atlas, the RecSys p-book (a living textbook that recommends its own content), the PoliRural+ policy p-book, SlAIdy (interactive talks), Tiny (AI for schools), AutoResearch, colAIborate, open-source models ELSA and beeFormer. - EU projects: PoliRuralPlus (Horizon Europe, rural policy with AI agents), FOCAL (forest and climate modelling), capTTict (technology transfer in 9 Danube countries). ## How to work with him - PhD candidates for these research lines, ideally with company experience: https://kordikp.github.io/?type=phd#contact - Research collaboration, joint proposals (Horizon Europe, national calls) and contract research in recommender systems and search, LLM agents and safety, ML for weather and climate, AI in education: https://kordikp.github.io/?type=research#contact - Talks and lectures (recommender systems and search, AI agents and their safety, ML for weather and climate, AI in education, university research and companies): https://kordikp.github.io/?type=talk#contact - Joining a project (Tiny, p-books, SlAIdy, AutoResearch, colAIborate, EduMatch): https://kordikp.github.io/?type=project#contact - Helping AI dětem scale globally: https://kordikp.github.io/?type=aidetem#contact - Bachelor's and master's theses: a limited number, for independent students; own topics that build on this research are welcome: https://kordikp.github.io/student-topics.html - E-mail: kordik@gmail.com or kordikp@fit.cvut.cz ## Pages - [Profile](https://kordikp.github.io/): projects, business, research group, EU projects, non-profits, teaching, selected publications, contact form - [Research timeline](https://kordikp.github.io/timeline.html): papers since 2002 and supervised theses, grouped by theme and era - [Thesis and PhD topics](https://kordikp.github.io/student-topics.html): current topics in Czech and English - [Group research highlights](https://ml-ci-group-fit-ctu.vercel.app/): the Machine Learning and Computational Intelligence Group at FIT CTU - [Timeline data (JSON)](https://kordikp.github.io/data/timeline.json): machine-readable papers, theses and milestones - [RSS](https://kordikp.github.io/rss.xml) ## Elsewhere - ORCID: https://orcid.org/0000-0003-1433-0089 - Google Scholar: https://scholar.google.cz/citations?user=9VIGa78AAAAJ - DBLP: https://dblp.org/pid/00/3917 - OpenAlex: https://openalex.org/A5035026045 - LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/kordik/ - GitHub: https://github.com/kordikp - Recombee: https://www.recombee.com · AI dětem: https://aidetem.cz · prg.ai: https://prg.ai · experts.ai: https://experts.ai
